ok heres what i got.......2 Audiobahn A275hcx amps, 2 Eclipse 12's (the ones with the aluminum cone and the dvc's), and a Alumapro 5 farad cap. Right now i am running a 4 guage power wire from the battery to the a dist block in the trunk from the dist block i have 2-8 guage wires running to the cap and from the cap to the amp. sound ok? ok heres what i got.......2 Audiobahn A275hcx amps, 2 Eclipse 12's (the ones with the aluminum cone and the dvc's), and a Alumapro 5 farad cap. For the ground i have 3-8 gauge wires running from each amp and the cap into a dist block and a 4 gauge wire running from the dist block to the chasis. sound good so far? for the speakers......i have one amp for each speaker....each amp bridged to the terminal on the box from the terminal i have the + to the + on one VC and the - on the terminal to the - on the other VC. the the - from the first to the + on the second....... my only concern is the cap. there are 4 + terminals and 4- terminals, when doing the power should i go.. dist block, cap, fuse block, amp or dist block, fuse block, cap, amp. and also when wiring the cap should i use all four terminals or one terminal for each "line" (only use 2 terminals)?

Ok, you should have (2) 4ohm DVC's. By what you said, you actually have each sub wired in Series, which is presenting an 8ohm bridged load at each amp. Those amps are actually listed as being 1ohm Mono stable, so you would be better off running the + of the enclosure to the + of both voice coils and the - of the enclosure to the - of both voice coils (do the same with the other sub as well). That way each sub is wired in parallel for a 2ohm load to bridge each amp. You should notice a remarkable difference...
As for the cap, I'd use 1 terminal for each line ------------- Squirrel

just the answer i was looking for........... what about the order of the power supply? should i put the cap before or after the fuse block?

also what if they are the dual 2ohm VCs? how can i tell the differance?

If it's a single fuse block (1 in, 1 out) then put the cap after it.
If it's a multi-out block (like 1 in, 2 out) then you would want it before the block.
Here's where it gets tricky... If the fuse block is a 1 in 3+out, then wire the cap after the block but on it's own line and without the amps connected to it (it sounds wierd, but you will still get the use of the cap for all amps on the block even though they are not directly connected to it). So this one would have each amp and the cap on their own line from the fuse block. ------------- Squirrel

the fuse block has 4 in 4out each with an individual fuse (i don't know the rating of hand) the cap has the same deal 4+ 4-

It should be stamped on the coil (should be a sticker or something with at least the model number). I don't believe the Eclipse Aluminum DVC's come in anything other then a 4ohm model (model number SW8122DVC). Even if it does come in a 2ohm DVC model, your amps are listed as being 1ohm mono stable and should be able to handle a 1ohm bridge. It would actually give you more power then the 2ohm bridge if that were the case.... ------------- Squirrel

Ok, that's not a distro block then, it's just a 4-channel fuse block (unless the 4 inputs are really getting split among the 4 outputs). Is it something like that, or are all 4 inputs distinctly seperate from each other on the fuse block? ------------- Squirrel

i have both....one is a fuse block 4 in 4 out 4 fuses all independent then i have 2 dist blocks one for the - ,one for the + ,each with a 1(?) gauge input and 4-6 gauge outputs

Then how exactly are you splitting the 4awg into (2) 8awg's? Are you only using 1 of the 4 inputs and outputs on the fuse block
one 4awg <--> Fuse <--> two 8awg

one 4awg---->dist block------->1st 8awg -------->cap------->fuse----->1st amp ------->2nd 8awg --------->cap------->fuse------>2nd amp

That should work fine the way you have the layout. Don't forget to rewire the subs in Parallel (keep 1 sub per amp) for the 2ohm mono bridge at each amp ------------- Squirrel
