Hifonics generally makes decent amps.  Run 4 AWG power and ground cable.  Wiring the subs in stero at 4 ohms is fine.  Are the DVC subs?  If so, you could wire them in mono at 4 ohms and push the amp a little harder.

The Z4000 is a stereo amp, isn't it?  That means it has only two channels... if it has four, then yes, wire each sub for 4 ohms and use two channels bridged into it.

OK, I looked up your Kicker subs and here's what I suggest:

The Comp VR12 has two 4-ohm voice coils.  Wire each woofer for 2 ohms (voice coils in parallel) and then put them in series, for a total load of 4 ohms.  Connect the woofers to the Hifonics in mono (bridged.)  This amp is rated at 400 watts mono into 4 ohms.  Put the Kickers in a sealed box and off you go.

Good luck!
