I have a 4 channel amp in the trunk hooked up to 2 subwoofers also in the trunk and to 2 pioneers in the rear cab. I also have the two rear speaker wires from the radio hooked up to a hi/lo converter which converts them to RCA cables, these cables go into 2 of the 4 availabe RCA slots in the amp. Problem is, depending on how I have the cables arranged, only 2 of the 4 speakers work, either the subs or pioneers, never all 4. Im sure all the speaker connections are good because they all work at one point depending on how i have the cables arranged, just never simultaneously.  How do i fix this, do i need another hi/lo converter to fill the other 2 RCA slots?

Try using a set of Y-adaptors and connect the signal from your line converter to all four channels of your amp.  Run the LEFT signal to both LEFT inputs and the RIGHT signal to both RIGHT inputs.
