... ive been looking around at subs latley and ive come to the conclution that i want jl audio W6V2's or Eclipse titaniums. Im going to get 10's and put them in a sealed encloser and power them with an 800 watt class d mtx amp. I was wondering if anybody else had any other seggestions for any other relly loud punchy bass setups,
thanx matt:)
Hello, i do have a suggestion, if you have the mtx amp already it is better to go with the mtx subs, and vice versa with JL. I would suggest the 8000 series 10's or if you can afford it the 9500D's(mtx's W7 competitor)If you want i could help you out on all of these products.

Actually, it's not required to use the same manufacturer of amps and subs. I used to feel that way (that everything should be matched), but you limit your options to too many other products that may be superior in quality.
BTW, I would choose JL Audio or Eclipse over MTX subs any day of the week.
As for choosing between the JL's or Eclipses, (2) 10W6V2's would be optimum for an 800 watt amp. (2) Eclipse Titanium SW9102's would need more like 1500 watts total to be run at an optimum level. But keep in mind with either subs, both models are 4ohm DVC's. That means with 2 of them you can only safely wire into a 1 or 4 ohm total load. So make sure you are matching the right amp output with the right ohm load. Which
model MTX amp were you looking at?

Eclipse all the way on the subs
. The titanium series are designed for sq and moderate to high SPL. The titanium pro's are an SPL sub. The aluminum drivers are a sq sub that still play stinkin loud, I use a pair of 10's myself in a 93 MR2. Like it was suggested above, sometimes it is the best to mix and match brands to achieve the best results for your application. Make sure you match the amp to the capabilities of the sub.
