hey,

i was wondering if anyone could help me.  I want to wire up 8 ohm speakers to an amp    ( Blaupunkt Pa2100).  I was wondering if hooking up 8ohm speakers to this amp, or any other amp, that says the power ratings at 4ohms will damage either the amp or the speakers.  Could i use a resistor if neccesary  to get the correct ohms?

the site has diagrams for wiring multiple subs to an amp if that's what you're doing.  If you just want to run one 8 ohm to each channel then that's not a problem.  Instead of 100 RMS @ 4 ohms you could expect 50 RMS @ 8 ohms with no damage to the amp or speaker.  Running at 8 ohms will actually be better than 4 since the amp will run cooler.
