i have a 1985 S10 standard cab 4cyc. i was wondering what the current alternator is and what i should upgrade it to when i buy a yellow top. i am running a single 1000w rockford amp with two infinity kappa perfects 12.. also if there is a special yellow top i should but please let me know

Call a local parts house like discount auto parts ( Florida southeastern U.S.) AutoZone, Pep boys, etc........ Ask the parts person what amp rating is for your stock alt. I would upgrade even if you don't get a "yellow top". I would get a 150 amp or more 1 wire ac/delco alt from a local shop.
