there are usually rubber gromet that goes through the firewall, so use that hole to poke the wire through. besides, drillin is a pain in the ass under there. remember put the sound wires opposite side of the car.

no, rubber gromet is use at the firewall for weather issues. the firewall is behind the engine, not the floor where the carpet is at. hope it is clear

here are some tips when installin a system:
-always fuse the power wire.
-fuse is place atleast a foot away from the battery
-take out the fuse b4 hookin up the power source to amp
-grounding: use factory ground if exist
watch out there the fuel tank is at b4 drill
            scrape paint for good grounding

good luck

the gromets you will be looking for will usually be behind the dash board it is easier to locate them from the engine compartment.

follow other wires through the firewall, i usually trace the wires from the battery to the fire wall when im searching for an existing grommet

also they are usually found in the extreme left and/or right corners of the fire wall, atleast from my experience.
