I am installing a new radio in a 1988 Ford Lincoln TownCar.  The wiring harness for this particular car has one long grey connector, and one small black block with about 20 pins inside.  Does this mean that this car has premium sound with an amplifier?  I bought a wiring harness with those two connections.  I now get power, but no sound.  If this automobile has an amplifier am I required to purchase a amp by-pass harness, and if it doesn't have an amp, what do I do?

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you!!!

I think this car does have amp in it.  It should be located in the trunk on the left side.

I fixed it! I found the amp in the trunk hidden a few mins after my initial post.  I bought a wire harness to bypass the amp, it works well now. Thanks.
