I am looking for a head unit that costs under $250 but i would like it to have preouts, and be mp3 capable. any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

How many outputs are you looking for does it need a sub output? I have a JVC KD-SX980 in my wife`s car and it has two pre-amp outputs and is a MP3 player also. You should be able to get the KD-SX990(this years model)for about $220.

I would use somewhere like Crutchfield to research, then look on eBay. Alpine CDA-9811 for 216. or CDA-9807 for under 200.
