I have gone to Walmart and looked for a amp kit but they are $26 for a kit they say is for up to 1100W. The thing is that ill be using a 2400W amp hooked up to 2 1200W 15" subs. Will this be enough? My bro said i could go to Home Depot and buy all the wire for less. What all will I need? I saw 2 guage wire for 47cents a foot. If i can get a list of what i need i can go compair peicing a set together of the WalMart kit.

for that setup i believe the smallest wire you could run for a 2400w amp is 0/1 if your tight on money

sorry i forgot about your second question, if the amp is high quality and the rms value of it is anywhere near the 2400w walmart wont be able to touch the wire you need. they just dont carry that serious of stuff. list... anl fuse block
anl fuse (200amp)
about 17ft of primary wire
about 18in of ground wire
a crimp ring terminal or equivelent for ground and power *this list depends completely on the car and amp this is just basic* Just a question though who makes the amp and the subs? ------------- Quad L Handyman services

This package would be cheaper than going out and buying everything separate.

excuse me tdsteele but i dont know were in the world your from but thats way more than i would pay. for 22 ft of 1/0 its only $80 were i buy it i figure that package would be atleast $40 over what i would pay.

Ok Ketel, you said $80 for 22' of 1/0 wire right. Thats $80 for just the wire, what about the fuse holder, for that size about $50, what about the fuse to go with it, about $15, and havent even got to the terminals yet to accomodate that size of wire, so for $130, i think thats not bad, esp considering its from Crutchfield and its all Streetwires. But anyways, i just listed that to give that guy an idea, didnt say he had to buy that one. Im sure he could find cheaper on the net if he wanted. P.S. Im in Kentucky and that price from Crutchfield is about average for the things that are offered in my area.

Damn, that is expensive. I had no idea that it would cost that much for an amp kit. Ok, well im a poor, engaged, father that has no money, WHAT ELSE CAN I DO??? Will it hurt it at all if i just get a different guage wire or a cheap kit like walmart? I know that i wont get the best performance, but i can save some cash and buy the better kit later.

skahide if you’re referring to the Legacy that you were talking about in earlier posts, than that 4 gauge amp kit from Walmart will be sufficient. That amp puts out no where near 2400 watts rms you will be lucky if you get 1100. Just curious what are the fuse ratings on that amp?
