What's your price range, and what amp do you currently have?

JL's are good subs. A few other to look at are:  Eclipse 87151.4. It is a 15" SVC sub with a 400 W RMS. Or you could step up to the aluminum SW8152.4 (15" SVC 500W RMS, but would still sound great with 400), Kicker Comp VR 15" dual 2 ohm, and Rockford Fosgate HX2 RFD2115. Out of these, I would recommend the Eclipse Aluminums. They have an X-max (one-way) is 1.3". This is more than double most other speakers, meaning that it will put out twice as much as other speakers.

I like my JL alot, which I swapped out my kicker comp 15 for

bass instruments are clear, not over boosted or muddy,  good impact without killing the rest of the music...

I'm prolly running too much power, but my gains are set conservatively, and I don't push it very hard for long periods

I think you'd be pleased
