Need Some Help on my amp

Okay, here is the way I have the wiring set up. I have a wire coming from my battery then into a fuse box thing with a 20 watt fuse in it then a couple of inches from the box thing. the wire spilts into two on going to my amp the other to my head unit. My amp has a 15 watt fuse in it. WEll the thing was working fine last night and then sh*t morning I got in it and nothing...no sound or anything.WEll, come to find out my amp wasn't getting any power so I went and took the fuse out of the main power wire before messing with any thing.Well, I found that my amp had blown it's fuse.Well, I scramble around and found another fuse and replaced it.Well, it blew that one too,a nd still no music.Can anyone hlep me out?

the "20 watt" fuse is that a 20 amp?

If you're blowing the fuse as soon as you put it in, you have a dead short to ground in your wiring somewhere.  This can be dangerous.  Disconnect everything and inspect all the wires looking for bad insulation.  Make sure you have the power connected to the +12V input on the amp and that there are no stray wires touching the frame.  Make sure all the grounds are hooked up properly and there are no stray wires touching the power.  Make sure you have the proper fuse rating.  If your amp is rated at 20 amps and your head unit at 15, then you would need at least a 35 amp fuse in your main power distribution system off the battery.

I think that I have found my problem well..sorta. I ran all new power wire to my amp. It is Stinger 4 awg stuff with a big fuse built in directly to the wire. That is for my amp, then i have my own little wire for my head unit which has a fuse box thing in it. so no more splicing. one wire for each no..Well, I did that got evcerything hooked up right. out the fuse in the amp then went to put the fuse in the amp hot wire when I did heard a clicking noise from my trunk...blew my fuse...again. i didn't even turn the head unit on. Like I said this system was working fine the other day.

check all your grounds, and your power wires making sure no bare wire is exposed. exposed wire creates an open circuit which pulls a tremendous load on any system.

    Disconect the amp then replace the fuse in the fuse block(you do have a fuse block) then put the power back on i suspect the amp or the speakers as being damaged.

    Why did you not use the factory wiring harness to power the head unit.

okay, see I did all of that. I ran new wire with a big fuse thing alrready built into the wire for the amp.I put a new fuse in the amp then put the fuse in the fuse box in the amp hot wire, when i did I heard a clicking noise went back to my amp. The fuse was blown. I'm thinking it is my amp. It's really a piece of crap anyway so i'm just going to save up and buy me another one. It wasn't the biggest one but i just needed something cheap until I get my new vehicle.

Turn off the car.  Disconnet your speakers from the amp.  Replace the fuse in the amp.  Does the amp blow the fuse without remote power being applied (with the car off and the key and the radio being off)?  If so, most likely the amp is toast.

Yes, I don't even turn my car on. I put the fuse in the amp then the fuse in the hot wire to the amp then i hear lciking noise. My amp blows a fuse.
