I've got a 1998 Olds Aurora, with steering wheel volume, seek, and prog. controls. I want to put in an aftermarket deck but still be able to use the factory controls on the steering wheel. Is there an aftermarket piece that i need or do i have to hard wire it?

The PAC SWI-V might be the ticket for you. It takes some time to set up properly and to learn the controls, but it works well. Your new head unit will need to have IR (infrared) remote controls.

Check with PAC to ensure this will work in your GM car. I know they work in Fords.

There are a few companies that make such a product. I agree that PAC would be the first to come to mind: www.go2pac.com. Try www.peripheral-aamp.com as well.

And I'll also second what DYohn says; the aftermarket radio you purchase needs to be one that includes an infrared remote.
