problems installing amp

i just got an amp from a friend, but i do not know where the red power cable is suppose to be hooked up to the car. neither do i do where the brown ground cable is suppose to be hooked up to the car. i have it hooked to my amp, but... i would really like to know... thnks

The +12 power cable (probably the red wire) goes to the battery, preferably through a fuse. The ground (probably your "brown" wire) goes to the chassis of the car.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but your question reveals some pretty basic lack of knowledge. If you don't know how to do this, get some help. The best way to learn is by doing, but get someone who knows what they are doing to show you the ropes if this is your first time. The last thing you want is to damage something - or yourself.

installation cost something i lack .... money. and i dont know sh*t ( as in anything ) about cars. so... but no disrespect taken
