I installed a Boston Pro series 3way system in a 03 Dodge ram. That was about three months ago. I was driving down the road the other day and they shut off. I turned the truck off turned it back on and they come back on. I have had to do this several times. I checked the amp and it is still on. I checked the patch cable connections and they were all good. I f anybody has any ideas please let me know. Thanks!

Sounds like your amp or your head unit is going into thermal shutdown or into protection. If it was just a loose connection turning the car off then back on would have no effect. You may need to get your amp tested by a professional shop to see if it needs repair.

Thanks. I hadn't thought about that. I wonder why it had started doing it now, because it is getting cooler outside and I haven't started using the heater. The amp by the way is a 4 channel Eclipse 50w x 4. Both channels are going out. I don't think it is the head unit because the rear door speakers and the subs are still on.

Your power supply may be going bad and your amp is going into its little protection mode and shut off
