I'm looking for a recommended "drop-in" speaker for the front doors in this car. The size appears to be 6 3/4" with a 3-screw mounting pattern. The car has a stock non-Infinity system with stock midbasses in the doors and stock "tweeters" on the sail panels (these will be removed). The new system will use an aftermarket amp so power will not be an issue. I'd like to avoid running new speaker wire into the doors so speakers with separate passive crossovers are out.

Recommendations?

According to crutchfiled these will fit your car.  I don't think there are any "drop in" replacements though (although someone else in this forum may be able to find some for you).  What i would do is make an adapeter ring out of wood or mdf  (maybe 1/4 inch) and screw that to the factory holes and then attatch the speaker to the ring.

Thanks for tryin', Duane. I had looked at those and the Pioneers listed on Crutchfield's site. I was just hoping there might be someone with some experience with this car. As it stands, I plan to make adapters from wood, in part because I suspect I'll need the extra depth. We'll see.
