My friend has a 2003 GT Mustang with the Mach1000 audio system. He likes the overall sound it has except he wants to add some low end bass. My question is where do I get the signal for the sub amp? If I tapped into the rear speaker leads with a LOC, wouldn't the signal still get managed by the Mach system's electronics? When I had a mustang with a Mach 360 in it, it would keep adjusting the bass or lowering the output to where you could turn it up full blast and it wouldn't blow anything. He wants to be able to turn the stock system up and down like normal and he will use the remote bass control from the Kicker 1200.1 to adjust the bass level to his preference. Any help would be great...

You would actually add the LOC at the output end of the factory amp.  But you would need a loc that is designed to step down an amplified signal.

Here's a Link on how to bypass the Mach460. It should be basically the same for the Mach1000.
