I have 2 cig outlets im using to wire neons under my seats. Do i just connect pos. wire of the cig outlet to the pos. of the neon and neg to neg? If so which circut do i break with a toggle switch, neg or pos?

Ok to hook up your neon the easy way just get a switch and if your neon have the clear wire one should have a stripe thats the pos take the cig plug off and hook up the switch on the power side of the wire the way i run my power is off the remote on the deck any other questions just ask

It’s not a good idea to power your neon’s off of your remote wire. Your head unit puts out a very small amount of current. If you want to wire it that way you need to use a SPDT relay. If your going to hard wire it to the cig just connect your + on the neon’s to the + on the cig and the - to the -. You will want to put a fuse (1.5-2 amps per neon) on your + side. You will also want to wire your switch on the + side. However the cig should be switched 12 volt, so when the ignition is off the neon’s will not get power. If you want to use them with the ignition off you will need to find a constant 12 volt. To do so you can use a voltage meter to check for a constant in your fuse box, and tap into that constant + 12 volt source.

ok your right about the remote thing but what i had ment to write was the remote wire that goes to the deck from the car or in better terms the wire that lets your deck know the car is on also if you have a good deck the remot will put out enough power to run more than you claim

The cig is a switched 12 volt, will i be able to find a fuse like that at radio shack?

its alot easy to wire it from the battery. walmart has a slot fuse wire section, get 12 volt wire. run it...have a kill switch..then connect to the right positive clips with female connectors. and run all the grounds to one place, usually on the fire wall. Also before you start....have the holes cut for the switches and ready to get screwed in. Makes it easy when your done wireing, and makes running the wires easier for the lengths needed. good luck. ------------- I need quality equipment, feel free to donate.

I don’t know if you can find them at radio shack. but they do sell them at most automotive stores. You will want an ATO in line fuse holder like the one pictured here on the top left https://selectproducts.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/page35.html

Just take and cut off the cig plug and connect the positive to any positive or a positive with a switch and the negative to a ground connection.
