what would sound better a sealed or ported box going in a mustang hatch....and 1foot would include displacement of the sub correct or should the box be 1.0+whatever the displacement is???

Those are some nice subs, I would defiantly suggest 1 cu/ft per sub in a sealed enclosure  (volume includes displacement).

That amp would be an injustice to those subs. I would suggest you give them around 600+ watts rms each. The JBL 1200.1 is an excellent choice. I have used that setup many times, and have always had people amazed at the amount of bass and sq those 2 12's are putting out. https://www.purecaraudio.com/product.asp?0=200&1=352&3=322

like Bberman1 said, 1 cu ft per chamber is ideal.  JBL makes good stuff, I run the 600.1 to 1 Eclipse Aluminum 12 in a 1 cu ft. sealed box.  Very tight bass, good balance of sq and spl.  I also reccomend the JBL BP1200.1, you can get it online for under 300 dollars very easily.  Ikesound.com has it for 259.00.  I bought my JBL 600.1 from them, they ship quick and have good customer service.  Here is the link, and good luck!
