Hi guys,

Currently i am 4" speaker with tweeter on my front car speaker, and i was thinking whether i can use the Capacitor to block out low frequencies, if so where do i connect the Capacitor ( the "+" or "-").

Do i need to buy a crossover capacitor or just the normal one will  still work?

If you get a "non-polar" capacitor then it shouldn't matter. Here's an example from Rockford. I don't know if that's the exact one that you would need, but it should get you started looking in the right direction

A single capacitor is a 6db per octave crossover, sometimes also called a "bass blocker."  Here's a good turotial so you can learn about crossovers.

Any non-polar electrolytic capacitor will work, but those designed for crossover use will generally sound much better, and have high enough voltage ratings to handle audio amplifier power.

Hi guys,

Just one last question do u need to buy non-polar capacitor, when i was at the shop i saw Elecrolytic RB- PC Mount, can i use those instead of the non-polar capacitor.

No, it must be a non-polar cap.  Go check out this resource for very good quality crossover caps.  Chers.
