Here's the current setup:  Panasonic HU pushing 3 pairs of internal speaks, 4s in dash, 6.5s in doors, and 6x9s in rear.  All of the internal speaks are Pioneer's recent line of blue & silver.
Soon I will be getting a Pioneer p6500 HU and I'm planning on a little speaker upgrade.  I'm looking at replacing my 6.5s with components and pushing them with an external amp, then just using the HU to push the 4s & 6x9s.
My budget for the components & amp is $300-$350.  Any suggestions on what amp or speakers I should look at?

The response to my question is phenomonal...
In keeping with the Pioneer theme, I'm looking at their 6.5 components, which are rated at 50w rms that I can push with a Pioneer 50x2 rms amp.  Anybody here ever heard these components and know if they're worth it?
