i know i need to use a integration harness to replace the head unit in this car but i'm wondering if theres anything else i need to know and if it uses the same dash kit as th 02 and 03 thanks .

Instead of relocating the radio with an extension harness, many companies make class 2 integration modules to retain chime functions, etc...   I use soundgate - the part is called "GMCHIME" and simply wires in behind the radio.  This way you don't need to shove your radio in the trunk.
