How many Kicker S12L7's or S15L7's can I use on my Almpine mrv-1507 amp?? I currently am running 1 mtx 6000 and 2 mtx 8000's in the back of my 94 accord..... but I want to uprade my head unit and my subs... any suggestions if I stick with the same amp?? or should I upgrade all together? and one more quick ? ... how doyou know how many dB your system pushes?? where can you buy a sensor to figure this out? thanks , Selah
If you are going for spl then you have the wrong amp. The 1507 is more for sound quality then spl.

I had a 1507 for a while, damn theives. It sounded good but it just would't get loud enough for my taste. I have had a Rockford bd1000a1 for about three years now and it will get loud when I want it to be and I haven't had any problems with it. I usually don't make recommendations but it has been good to me.

i hooked up 4 apline type-r 15's, 2 per channel on the same amp in a gmc yukon, it was so sick the owner didn't want to sit inside. So that tells you a little bit about its output capability,,just its not class d, so its a massivly heuge pig on power consumption. Unless you have a high output alternator, you will never get the amp to perform at its peak, since you will be running at 12 volts constanty, even with the amp at idle.
Go for alpines new digital accu class d mrd-m1000 amp, it puts out 1000wrms at 2 ohm, 1800watts peak, and the best thing is that it has maximum current draw of about 45 amps.
