hey, i have another problem! i have a 1995 BMW 740il and i can turn on the radio but there will be no sound at all. i can change the stations and all but just no sound what do you guys think? what should i check for? it is all stock so maybe the stock amp? thanks!

You should start with the fuses.

ya, possibly the amps fuse is blown, other than that your deck may have just decided to stop sending signals

if it is factory amplified make sure that you have hooked up the remote turn on wire from the deck to the amp.

thanks, i'll give the fuses a try, does anybody know if bmw factory amps have a seperate fuse? any other ideas?

I am going to have to go with Kenmci on this, im guessing the remote turn on for the factory amp wasnt hooked up.

thats what i was thinking, maybe it came off? becuase the radio worked well before, dang BMWs and it's electrical problems...is there any way test whats wrong?

locate the factory amp, and test the wires with a light bulb tester when the radio is off. There should be one power wire. Then test it with the radio on, there then should be 6 powerd up wires. See what happends there.

The factory amp should be in the drivers rear quarter panel behind a removable panel, or behind the trunk liner.

pull rear seat there are 2 amps behind back of seat ... MUST PULL SEAT the white wire is amp turn on
