Are you looking for something that will add just a little kick to your factory setup or do you want something that just pounds? Also do you have the model # of your AMP?

1 alpine type-R 12 in a ported box will slam with that power, you definately wont be able to see clearly when the bass is hitting.

Well why not spend a little more and throw in a Brahma? That sh*t would thump to your little hearts content. And it would slam harder than those alpines. posted_image

im with gavin juice, i'm all for alpine type-R series but from some of the set ups ive seen of the brahama's you should try to get them instead.

I would go with an Eclipse Aluminum https://www.eclipse-web.com/products/speaker/sw8100/sw8122dvc.html  (1) Aluminum will put out as much bass as (2) or more type R's and they sound very clean. I have never owned a Brahma but I have heard a few of them and they do sound pretty good, but the Eclipse Aluminum defiantly out performs them.

promodeepcycle In order to use an isobaric enclosure you must have at least 2 drivers!

i have 2 15" audiobahn subs (aw150Q) excursions for sale ($120) for both, and i'd get a sealed box for them.....these things are 600rms and will hit in a jetta trunk actually in any trunk.

E-BAY!!  You can get  just the sub for $99 https://cgi.ebay.com/dll?ViewItem&item=3053451093&category=18803

be shure to get the swr-1241d as that sub will be able to be wired down to 2 ohm to get the most from your amp. Asuming its 2 ohm stable.

Or you can get the type-r with ported box made by alpine, i can't find it on e-bay, but im shure a local shop or other internet dealer has them.  It's model number is SBR-122CR.  You can check it out at https://www.alpine-usa.com/html/D2_n_1_n_n.html , go to products, click on the picture of subs, then click on "subwoofer box's".

good luck with the tough decision.
