Looking to get a replacement factory radio for a 97 chevy silverado. The person does not want aftermarket. I have not been able to open the dash yet to see if it uses a rail system or tabs on the side of the radio. Does anyone off hand know which other year factory radios fit in the 97? It seems most can be swapped with each other (even to cars)

it depends on the trim level (if it's an LT or and LS-) but 96-98 silverados, tahoes, suburbans are interchangable. and so are their GMC equivalents (sierra, Yukon, Suburban).
