Do any of you know of any companies or sites that sell aftermarket bass control knobs? Like the kinda that Rockford Fosgate make for their amps? I have a Sony Xplod XM-D400P5 amp, and I would like to be able to have loud bass without having to adjust the bass settings on my head unit or actually having to turn the head unit up loud. I had a Fosgate 250S a while back and before it died, I would be able to turn the bass control knob all the way up and the bass would be loud as if the head unit was up loud, but it was actually playing at a normal level, and I never had to adjust my bass, as it was on the lowest setting all the time. Now, with this sony amp, I have the gain turned all the way up, and it wont go that loud unless I turn my head unit up loud, and it still wont be that loud because my head unit maxes out and starts to distorts before the amp sounds like it even hits its peak. If any of you can help, it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When I say the bass is not loud enough, Its as if the volue of the amp is not raising in sync with the head unit. I was looking for an aftermarket "bass knob" to fill in that "gap". I dont have a crossover, I just have my amp set at 70Hz and the input gain all the way up with my bass boost gain set at 50%. My Fosgate would do the same thing if the bass knob was not hooked up, but if you had the bass knob turned all the way up and then you were to plug the bass knob cord into the amp, the bass would shoot up all the way up reguardless of what the volume of the head unit was set at. And I had the gain on the Fosgate set exactly as I have it now on the Sony. I am using thick, gold-plated RCA wires for my RCA connection and my Head Unit is a Pioneer DEH-P850MP. I also have another question: How exactly would you hook that bass knob up to my system?
I would suggest that you turn up the amps LPF to 80 Hz . Here is a tutorial on how to set your gains

Is there a turn-on lead and power wire, or is it just straight RCA cables.
