If memory is correct, ther is two screws that you didn't think of. They are directly under the back corners of the factory radio and are accessed by the small holes on either side of the transmission column, up where your feet are. Lie down on the floor, stick a flashlight in there and you should see the screws (phillips?) If you don't have the proper tools to get them out, well  they are a water retaining sea cow for most people.

" If you don't have the proper tools to get them out, well  they are a water retaining sea cow for most people. " Nice analogy. You will need an angle driver bit with an extension and on the end, do not use a philips bit, use a 6 or 7 mm ( can't remember exactly ) socket as this will not strip out on you.

yeah those suck!! actually they are 8mm bolts.  but if you look on the right side of the radio.  stick you head in the passenger floorboard.  and look behind the radio with a flashlight, you should be able to see the two 8mm sittin there jus chillin!  once u can get them out, the radio will slide right out!

i am installing a pioneer deck in my 92 accord. i have everything hooked up except for the yellow/white (antenna trigger) wire and the red\black (illumination) wire and its not working. do these wires need to be hooked up and if so where? if not, whats the problem? does it need to be put in place in the dash for a ground or something?

Did you accidentaly short the factory wires removing the old radio. Did you cut the factory harness away, was it already gone or did you buy a plug to go into it? Check the vehicle fuses to make sure they are all good. Meter both of the Pioneer's power leads for +12v and the ground lead for continuity. That's the best place to start.

i cut the factory deck out. what if i shorted the wires, what now? wouldnt that have blown a fuse? they are all fine. i dont know how to check the power for 12v or the ground. do i need to attach to illum or antenna trigger (no idea  what this is) to something?

If you shorted the wires (in the future cut one at a time and then tape them up) there is a very good chance that you did short one out. Does the other accessories in your car work, horn,cig lighter,clock,dome lights etc. Verfiy all of these, Did you check for fuses under the hood or only in the kick panel? You need to find out which wires have power in them and which ones don't. By the sounds of it you do not have a meter or god forbid, a test light. If you are intent on solving this problem and don't want to buy a meter, then I hate to say it, find a test light or even better, pop into the local shop, if they are quite there today they just may be willing to give you a hand. They may ding you $20 or something like that, but it's well worth it.

no you dont have to have illumination or the ant wire connected (only connect the ant if you have power ant), if you cut the harness you probably blew a fuse, check the fuses under the dash or under the hood.

Right Rear Speaker (+) = RED / Yellow

Left Rear Speaker (+) = Blue / YELLOW

12v Ignition = Yellow/Red

12v Constant = Blue/White

Illumination = RED / Black

Left Front Speaker (+) = Blue/Green

Right Front Speaker (+) = RED / Green

Rear Right Speaker (-) = BROWN / White

Left Rear Speaker (-) = Grey/White

Left Front Speaker (-) = Grey/Black

Right Front Speaker (-) = BROWN / Black

Ground = Black

Remember to check all power connections with a DMM. also make sure not to hook the power into the illumination 12v.
