I have recently installed an amp and sub into my car, and (i think) have all the wiring right as its works great, but when I switch it on (the car stereo) there is a "pop" noise from the sub, and a quieter "pop" when I switch it off again.

What can I do to avoid this? Is it because the amp gets a voltage spike when the ignition is turned on, or is it as the key is turned through ACC to ON?

Its quite annoying and I've really gone for a system that looks standard but performs well, and nothing gives the game away more than tha noise from the sub!

Thanks in advance!

check you ground. make sure that it is attached to a solid piece of bare metal. no paint, no plastic, just bare metal.
