I am assuming that you have a factory deck and hooking up an aftermarket amp / sub system. Does the car have a power antenna. If it does the wire to trigger the antenna may go to +12v only when the tuner is on, so obviously you do not want this type of wire. Check it with a meter to find out for sure. If this wire is not present, under your steering column you can look for a pink or green wire. This should be a +12v ignition lead, make sure you test this wire with your meter first. It will give you +12v with the keys in the ignition and turned to either start or run.

Thanks for the reply Rob.Yes I am hooking a amp and subs into the factory Monsoon system. My car doesn't have a power ant.I will check the wires with a volt meter.I was just looking for a short cut by finding out if anybody knows the GM wiring system and the exact wire I should use. Thanks for your reply, Jerry

I don't have a wire magic for your car, but it is a good bet to base it on a similar car, most gm's do not drastically change the color coding of the wires year to year, I would look for a pink wire under the steering column. This hopefully (meter it to be sure) should be the +12v ignition line to trigger your amp.
