I 'm installing an aftermarket stereo in a 2003 chevy trailblazer. I'd like to know what all is involved in removing the factory radio. I've heard that this radio is ia a databus radio and that it cant be removed without causing problems with other accesories in the vehicle. Is this true? If so, how do I bypass this? A harness? A module? Anyone ever replaced a radio in a trailblazer?, if so please give me any and all tips. Thanks!

It uses a standard harness for the 2000 + Chevy.  You will loose your door chime and On-Star connections.  You will also have to catch the accy wire (red) from your fuse box.  Other than that, you won't have any problems.

ya except if you do it that way you will void your factory waranty and even insurance if you get in an accident, the airbags will perform erratically if you dont do a databus hookup. People who hook up new databus radios like this should not be installing as they are a threat to peoples lives.

CUTDOG504, do NOT listen to what he has to say. The airbags perform erratically becasue they are controlled by the factory radio, this means that they could go off for no apparant reason, or on the flipside, they will not go off when your in an acceident. Please take what i've said to heart, i know that it is more expensive to relocate the radio but take it to a real shop and let them do it. Make sure that they relocate, if not take them to court, it's illegal.
