I am planning on putting my old subwoofer in my sisters Ford Focus (2000 or 2001). I didn't see a factory amplifiier in the trunk. Is there a remote turn-on for the amplifier somewhere in this car? Is there an amplifier and if their is what wire is for the remote? If there isn't an amp, is there a remote turn-on for an amp off the head unit? I am putting my old system (about 8 years old). It is a JBL sub and a Kenwood mono amp (100 watts). This combination did not put out a whole lost of bass, but they are both in great condition after 8 years. Have other people had the same experience with Kenwood amps?

not impressed with anything Kenwood personally. I can't stand them. cute features, crap reliability, and mediocre at best performance.. personal opinion of course.. no offense. Old isn't always bad mind you. A good portion of the system in my Jeep came out of my old Festiva, and that system was put together around 1988-90. I moved over an Orion pre-amp, electronic crossover, amp, 4 cerwin-vega 12" subs, an alpine parametric EQ, and an alpine spectrum EQ, along with my lestek 150-amp alternator, power distro stuff (cables, ckt breakers, fuses, distro blocks), a 4-channel art-series PPI amp, and a few other odds and ends, which I combined with a new JVC el kameleon source, and infinity reference component mids/highs, and a new orion HCCA series amp, and a new alarm and some new power distro stuff (optima battery etc) nothing wrong with old stuff it its good.
