With a single 12W6AE you'll wire in parallel for a 3ohm total load (since the 12W6AE is a 6ohm DVC).

As far as an amp goes, you're looking for around 300 - 400 watts @ 3ohms from a Class D amp (if you went with a Class AB amp, it would need to be 2ohm Mono stable). You want an amp rated around 400-500 x 1 @ 2ohms and 200-300 x 1 @ 4ohms. That way you should get right around 300-400 x 1 @ 3ohms.

I'd recommend a Rockford Power 500bd or Power 501bd. They are both rated 500 x 1 @ 2ohms and 300 x 1 @ 4ohms. That would give you apx. 400 x 1 @ 3ohms.

Whatever you decide, keep in mind that 500 watts is the beginning of JL Audio's "Warranty Void" zone for the 12W6AE. So going with an amp that will produce 500+ x 1 @ 3ohms runs a strong risk of causing driver failure.

You should get a JL Amp.  JL Amps are AB in design and have a regulated power supply.  They will put out the same power from 1.5 ohm all the way to 4 ohm.  Wiring the sub in parrallel will give you a 3 ohm load.

If you want to push 500W to the sub, you can do a 500/1.  Also, you could do a 300/1.

I would do the 500/1.  Set the gains and crossover properly, be sure not to distort the woofer and you should be fine running the extra power.

Be sure the power is clean.  You can be when you buy a JL amp.

(Yes, I sell JL amps LOL)
