I have the stock head unit in my car right now.  Because I have integrated digital climate control, I can't replace the unit itself, but I was thinking of mounting an aftermarket deck elsewhere.  Now my stock radio has a carrage loaded six disc changer mounted in the arm rest.  Can an aftermarket deck with built in changer control operate the stock changer, or are all aftermarket decks designed only to use specific changers?

I'd be surprised if you can do this, but check with these folks just the same...

no it wont work, the din cable from your cd changer that plugs into your factory radio wont plug into the aftermarker radio.  by the description of you dash, i assume you have a ford taurus.  yeah being that you have the electric climate controls rather than the knobs, you cant replace that unit.
