Does anyone know if this changer would be compatible with any aftermarket head unit? Apparently honda uses Alpine?

Depends on what year. If the changer has an M-Buss connector ( round with 8 pins ) then it's an Alpine compatible unit.

No....it has a square connector. Available '99 - '02. Where could I find that information?

The square connector ones are Alpine or Clarion changers. You can get adaptor harnesses from Peripheral. https://peripheralelectronics.com/application_guide/app_guide_years.asp?model=%2799-02+Honda%27s+%28Except+Passport%29&Submit=View+Your+Selection
