A Friend of mine and I installed and amp and sub into my car. I was just wondering if it was installed correctly. Sub is dual voice Coil by Crossfire. Its the Crossfire P112d. The amp is vr300d also from crossfire. On the sub he connected Positive to positive and negative to negative. Then he ran wire from one of the positive to positive on amp and one negative from sub to negative on amp. Both connected to amp on same channel. Is this the correct way or does anyone know of a better way?

That sub is DVC at 4 ohms each.  You have connected it in parallel, so you are presenting your amp with a 2 ohm load.  I am not familiar with the amp, but assuming it is 2-ohm stable, your connection is fine and is, indeed, the "best way" for maximum output.

Is the amp a monoblock amplifier?  Or am I reading it correctly that he put the two positive terminals on a two channel amplifier together and both negatives together?  If so then that isn't the right way to do it.

The amp is a monoblock amplifier, it will be quite happy driving that sub all day long. The connection is fine.
