What would be best in an astro van? Ported or sealed? Oh its a passenger van. Amp is a soundstream and will be delivering 75w to each speaker ( two 12in krankinstiens) I listen to all types of music, rock ,country ,rap, pretty much everthing(bassy stuff mostly though. tia

I personally like sealed. What are the power ratings of your subs? 75 watts isn't vey much for subs. You might want to look into a different amp for later on down the road.

I agree with bfog99. You should look into another amp. I use sealed enclosures in my astro van. Check out the site:

NO DON'T DO IT!!!! That Soundstream amplifier is a very very good amp, used them myself for years and have sold even more to many happy customers.Never port a box unless the box is designed to the spec for the subs and wants to be ported. A sealed enclosure is one of the best boxes for sound quality, depth and overall performance. Keep that box on the smaller side, around 2.2 cu.ft - 3 cu. ft. net volume (for 2 subs) and you should get good results.

I agree with forbidden the amp you have is a good and clean amp. In regards to your box if you want to be on the safe side go with a sealed box. If you are an experience builder and the subs can accomplish the sound you want in a ported box go for it. The one thing you must remember is that a ported box is normally larger than a sealed one and it does not normally cover the entire sound spectrum you may want. The plus is that a ported box requires less power than a sealed box.

It seems to me that the sealed box is the way to go! so is it better to for each woof to have its own sealed area or does it matter?
