Hello everyone,

I want to install an amp and subwoofer to my stock GM radio. Does anyone know if the stock radio has the RCA plugs for the amp? My radio is the stock GM CD radio without equalizer.

Thanks

No your stocker does not have built in rca outputs, you will need to purchase a loc or an amp that has a loc built in and tap into the speaker leads either at the speakers or if applicable, behind the radio. LOC = line output convertor - a device that converts a speaker level signal to an rca signal to be amplified. Most LOC adaptors and amplifiers with built in LOC have a good wiring diagram to show how to hook them up. Have a look at www.installdr.com for info on your vehicle if applicable. If your GM vehicle is a delco / bose system, your best bet is to go to the speakers for a signal to tap into.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

You ought to be able to pick up a LOC pretty cheap (like $14.99 I think) from Best Buy. Circuit City would probably also carry them.

Hi,

I am trying to install an amp and sub to my Grand Prix. My radio is stock therefore it does not have RCA plugs for the Amp. Radio has 4 speakers and I want to know where should I connect the speaker input from. Should I share from the rear speakers?

Thanks

I hope someone can help. I just installed a sub and amp to my stock stereo and the only noise I get is when I turn off the radio. It's a loud humming sound.
