Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping that you guys can all help me get a great system in my car. Please put in any comments you have - I'm new to this game! I have a 1995 Acura Integra LS sedan, and this is what I have planned so far (the components in bold have already been purchased): - Headunit: Blaupunkt CD70 "San Francisco" CD Receiver (4x25w RMS; 4x45w Max) - Front Speakers: MB Quart Premium PSD 216 Components (60-130w RMS) - Rear Speakers: Infinity Reference 652i (60w RMS) - Amplifier: US Acoustics USX-4085 (4x85w RMS) - Subwoofer: Image Dynamics IDQ12 D4 V.2 (350w RMS) - Sub Box: Q-Logic Sealed 1.0 cu. ft. It has been recommended to me to power the MB Quart components and the subwoofer off of the US Acoustics amplifier, and to power the rear speakers off of the Blaupunkt's internal amplifier. Is there going to be any trouble with running a 60w RMS speaker off of a 25w RMS receiver? Can anyone recommend a good but even less expensive rear speaker? Will the US Acoustics be powerful enough to power that sub? I do not need a 350w sub, but I was recommended to this one because of its excellent sound quality. On their website, US Acoustics says that the 4085 will go for 4x120w RMS @ 2 ohms... if I use 2 of those channels for the Quarts and two for the IDQ12, will it be a well-matched setup? Any other suggestions are helpful too. Thank you, Ben

hmm suggestions. can't stand blaupunkt. if ya use MBQuart up front, use em in back too. use a 4-channel amp for fronts/rears, and a separate amp for the subs. I can think of better subs to consider.. and build or have built, a custom box. Q-Logic boxes aren't that great, nor are they built to your sub's specs.

I have to deffend BLAUPUNKT here, you see a lot of theyr stuff now comes from asia where really they use more or less slave labor to make stuff and they are not the only ones (remember nike ??!!),BLAU has stood for a long time as the brand to have, years ago your Volkwagen or Porsche allways got broken in because ...their Blaupunkts. Some BLAU stuff still getts to N.America made in Germany do you remember theyr 7 series (and i'm not reffering to BMW's 7 series) with card security ? they were from from Germany.Keep in mind that some amps were made in the US and they gott lots of awards in Europe, anyhow. ------------- Dan M C

ehh I've dealt with blaupunkt for years.. since the 80s.. and I never cared for their asthetics. they're just flat out ugly. the people I knew with German porsches tore out the blau and put in an Alpine to be honest, usually using something like boston acoustics for the fronts and rears. That was in a 944, 928, and a couple of 935 turbo widebody slant-nose cabrios I worked on back then.
