I installed my new MA Audio SY5011DX in my 2000 taurus.  the amp seems only to do what it is supposed to on certain songs. Then on the rest of the songs it sounds like somebody turns the gain all the way down. i raised the lowpass x-over as high as it would go (350hz) and checked the ground.  It still does it. The amp has votlage meters and temp gauge and it doesn't get hot and doesn't drop below 14 volts. anybody have any answers?

Hi kornbread23, my first impression is that you may have a phasing problem if all other electrical connections are fine (power, ground, signal leads, speaker leads), but would like to know more.  Does the amp always play the same way on the same songs? What and how many speakers are connected to this amp? Described what it's doing when it does it right and what it's doing when it's doing it wrong. You say voltage never drops below 14 volts, how high does it get?
