2 amp install w/1 output

I had a friend install a second amp in my pathfinder which is to power my front speakers. My question is he hooked the second amp to my existing power wire for the other amp, is this robbing power from the two amps? I only have 1 amp output for the rear coming from my receiver. Any suggestions for change would be appreciated.

What size are the fuses in both of the amplifiers and the size of the fuse in the main power wire at the battery. What size is the power wire? When you say you only have 1 amp output from the rear coming from the receiver, have you split it using y cables? Does either amp have an rca output on it?

Yes, the  rca cables run from the receiver to the first amp  is split with y connectors. The fuses in each amp I think are 15's. The fuse in the power wire is a inline fuse that came with an install kit. All that I know is enclosed in a glass bubble.  First amp is coustic 350 watt x 2 the new amp is crunch drive series 100 x 2. Just wanted to make sure that I am getting the best performance for what I have got. Thanks.

The purpose of the fuse at the battery is to protect the vehicle and it's contents, not the amps, it however should be of a size equal to or greater than the combined value of the fuses in both of your amps. I am going to guess that is is a 30amp agu fuse. I asked about the power wire gauge, now seeing what you have a 10 gauge would probably work, but a 8 gauge would be better. You can't hook a garden hose up to a fire hydrant, if you are starving the amp of current, it cannot make it's full output potential. There is nothing wrong with running two amps the way you have for the power connections, for the rca's though, needs improvement. Does either amp have a rca output? If so hook the rca from the deck to that amp and a new rca from the output of that amp to the input of the other amp.
