First time with one of these through the shop, how does the radio come out? I noticed little slots, 2 one the top and two on the bottom of the radio, do they operate similar to the vw type removal from years gone by. I don't want to experiment on the customers dash, so who's run into this before?

Yea, they are similar to vw's. You don't have European radio removal tools then take some kenwood "similiar" and grind them down on one side and insert into the slots and then pull.

I've got the proper keys (slotted), this thing is just being a water retaining seacow. Are the tabs on the back sprung like the old vw's where they can bend back up behind the dash if the key is inserted at the wrong angle? or do they spring to the sides? Thanks dude, not often I get caught up but it does happen.
