I am putting together a quite nice system in my 2001 suburban, and I am wanting a pair of kicker L7's 10", but I am not sure what enclosure, i am thinking sealed because I am going for a nice clean sound, but the sealed boxes out there range from 1 cubic foot to .6 cubic feet. Which size would sound better. Or is their another sub out there that is going to be better. I have a rockford fosgate 1001bd amp and am looking to spend around $300 for both speakers. Any input on this or why or why not to use the L7's would be great. I don't want to get stuck with any crap.

I have been looking and I am interested in the JL Audio 13"w7. I read that it has dvc 1.5 ohms, which could be 3 ohms, would my 1000 watt 2 ohm amp work? Is this sub worth the money and would it sound godd, i would only buy one?

I've heard nothing but great things about the 13W7, but the whole 1.5-ohm voice coil thing turned me off of them. My sub amp is a Precision Power A1200.2, and it's designed to put 1200 Watts into a 4-ohm load. The way its protection circuitry works, it will drive a 3-ohm load, but will only provide 900 Watts in that configuration.
With your amp, since it's 2-ohm mono stable, it will happily drive a 3-ohm load, but I'd only expect to get about 750 Watts out of it. As an alternative to the 13W7, people I've asked have suggested the Image Dynamics IDMAX 12 with dual 2 or 4-ohm voice coils. You could configure one of the dual 4-ohm models as a 2-ohm overall load and get the full 1000 Watts out of your amp. I'm probably going to try one of the dual 2-ohm IDMAX 12s as a 4-ohm load. If I do, it will be the first time I've used anything but JL Audio in my personal cars.
