Alright guys i am gettin rid of the 4 w0's sittin in the closet, The guy wants all 4 independantly vented so here is the config i came up with for each chamber of the box
17wide by 16 high by 13 deep
the port is 14.5 high by 2 wide by 29.33 long
i am looking at 1.5 cuft per sub and 38hz tuning for the ports..How does everyone feel about this config? It is getting power from a old orion that will drive 500x1 at 1 ohm i fell this will be ample power for these subs really a little overboard but with gain and such down not worried about that..again let me know he want to try to compete with it..i tried to tell him it wasent the way to go but he was low on a budget, $700 for the total install plus the subs and amp and box..so he got a decent deal $700 is about retail on just the equpiment..let me know on the box specs trying to get him to the high 140's to low 150's

If i remember correctly, the W0 can only handle 100 wrms in 1 cuft sealed box. It wasn't really designed to go ported. If the sub is "used" and soft (moves easily in and out) you will tear the surrounds off in a ported box with only 40 50 watts of power. Put it in the smallest car you can. 150 +dB from W0 won't last long. Good luck.
i have had all these hooked up in a config similar to this, 2 vented and that was albe to pull 142.3 i am upping the frequency a little for the tuning, upping the power a little and adding 2 more, i am hoping to find a 150 any one else have anything postive to say about the box design?

What size W0 are we talking about? The 10-inch and 12-inch models are rated for 125 Watts continous. The 15-W0 is rated a little higher, at 150 WRMS. So, it sounds like 500 Watts driving a quartet of them is right in the ballpark. Your box size of 1.5 ft^3 has me a little puzzled, though. That's a little too big for the 10-inch, and significantly too small for the 12-and 15-inch models. JL Audio's website has all of the specs for boxes for these subs, both sealed and ported. Also, since you're trying to hit high SPL numbers with this setup, it's a benefit that he's got four speakers. Going from one sub to four gives you about a 6 dB increase without having to increase power. In other words, 500 Watts into 4 W0's should give you almost 6 dB more than 500 Watts into a single W0 (I know a single W0 can't take 500 Watts, it's just an example)

i am going with the 10w0 the 1.5 cuft is a little over kill but from the programs i am using it dosent decline the spl any, but it helps with the lower end bass at lower volumes. 500 for all 4 w0 should be alright
