im trying to get a good system together for my friend and were trying to decide on 2-10" subs amp combo. now were trying to deCIDE WHAT IS THE BEST SUB to get we were looking at either the alppine series(i dont remember the series i think its the R the top ones) or the jl 10w6v2. now we have abudget to stay in and just need a push in the right direction. so what do you rhink od these 2 subs and can you give your opinion on other subs and amps
please help

get the alpines, they will be much cheaper, and there a better sub, JL is overratteds and overpriced, it;s good, but you pay to much for what you get,

if you decide to go with the JL's which you should and live near Albany NY I have a few for sale 10 w6v2 that hammer (cheap) I have heared both go with the JL either way just a better egineered sub Nick ------------- don't fowl the track

Well if youre looking for the best overall system the jl's kick the type r's ass. I know , ive heard both of them , and i used to own type r's. The jl's are better if you have the money for them, but if you don't have the money to get the jl's the alpines are a pretty good choice for a lower end sub. ------------- everything stolen :(

ok what amp should i get can u recomend a couple of them and will they sound good in a sealed enclosure??

It really depends on what your budget is. If you tell us we might be able to suggest something other options. Also, what kind of music, what kinda of car... all those types of things. With the two types you listed, I would get the JL's. They are really nice. I would put them in a sealed box personally. I would probably match them up with a JBL BP600.1. It is 1 ohm stable and will push 600 watts RMS, 300 per sub. I know they are 400 watt RMS rated, but they will still sound great. If you don't like that amp, you will either need to run these in 1 ohm or 4 ohms at 800 watts or so. I think it would be cheaper to find an amp that will push 800 watts at 1 ohm versus 4 ohms. any other questions, let us know.
