i have 2 kicker s12l5's and 2 jbl bp600.1 mono amps, now from what i learned from previous posts is to use 2 y adapters so i can split the rca to the 2 amps since the have no outputs. this install guy is telling me now that i might not even need the y adapters because they are mono amps so he can run the rca's to the left mono channels on the amps...does this make any sense?? wouldnt that mean the stereo channel from the sub preout on the hu would be connected to the mono channel on one amp, would that sound right? or is this install guy a idiot?? thx for the help

Some amplifiers have a switch on the side to use one input signal to drive both channels of the amps. You may come into problems doing this if you are adding two amps for subs and use the right channel to one and the left channel to the other(if you don't have a dedicated sub output from your deck).
