are high capacity capacitor banks as good as the old fashioned cylinder caps? i am thinking about buying either one of the phoenix gold ten farrad cap banks or a rockford fosgate 25 farrad bank. i noticed that they are usually rated for 16 volts whereas it is recommended to have caps rated for 25 volts.

they will work just the same. your car won't go over 15 volts anyways.

do you realize how many 1000's of watts of amplifier you would need to be running to require that many farads of capacitance. i think the rule goes something like 1000watts = 1farad.  if you had 25000watts of amplifiers in the back, you would need several batteries, and several alternators as well.
