actuated trunk lid and more?

I am thinking of rebuilding my dash to innclude a full console with motorized doors covering my head unit, heat/ac controls, switches and changer. Also I would like to put an actuator to raise and lower my trunk lid. I saw a post on here, not sure who to give credit to that refered somebody to a place that customizes vans for handicapped ppl for the trunk lid set-up. My question is, can I set up a momentary pushbutton switch to start the raising and lowering of the lids automatically. (A great example is on my Taurus' driver window, tap the button and the winndow rolls itself all the way down and stops itself as it hits bottom. Any Ideas would be appreciated greatly. I just dont want the gearing to snap or come off track because it tried to go too far.

What you can use is a window control module for this type of circuit. The module monitors a votage spike and when it happens it shuts off power to the motor.

Thanks, Jeff. I see you spend quite a bit of time helpin people on this site. I have a DEI winndow roll up module, 519T I believe. Is this practical for my plans? Is there any way to control this with just a switch? Last, but not least, I have an alarm in my car already, do you have any suggestions for remote control accessories. I saw a remote fog light kit at Meijer. I am looking for something similar to control a number of "goodies".

It is practical only if you want the trunk lid to be able to remotely close with a pulsed or continuous signal coming from the alarm brain. Otherwise if you want to be able to open & close the trunk lid via remote you will need another module. As well if your alarm has an AUX output that stays engaged as long as you hold down the button.... this would work great. The only thing is that the actuator has to be a negative rest at ground system in order for the modules to work. I'm not faniliar with the remote fog light kit ? Is this just a fog light servo that you can control via your alarm and it wil go on when you press the AUX button on your alarm remote ?

Actually, the kit I was talking about with the fog lights is separate and self contained, completely separate from the alarm. I haven't been back there to look, but I think Pilot may have made it. One of those DIY kits with its own remote.

the fog light kit was separate from the alarm completely, and has its own remote. I am not sure, but I think Pilot makes it.
