Hey Folks,
I am looking at purchasing an aftermarket 6 or 10 disk CD changer for this vehicle. I would like the in-dash radio/tape to control the CD changer. I am aware that there are wiring kits or cables that do this (ex. P.I.E wiring kits) but I have no clue what type of connector I need. I think its a 10 pin but I really dont know. I'm pretty sure it's a Delco unit with RDS or something like that.
Anybody know what type of connector I need for example a 6 disk Kenwood changer?
Thanks for any help!
Eric

The kits you are referring to only work on the older GM radios. The new radios are controlled by the data system in the vehicle. If you want to add a changer then you either add an FM modulated unit or use an aftermarket radio replacement or relocation kit. The radio in the car can't be removed without major problems occurring. With one of these options you can put in an indash radio changer combo. You could also ask your local GM dealer if yu can get the factory in dash 6 disc changer.

What about this? The Alpine KCE-202B...can be found at https://store.hometheateradvantage.com/3595.html. It is an interface unit that plugs into the existing wiring harness and is for certain Alpine CD Changers. I do not know however if this will work with a 2003 Impala tho...I can't seem to find any specs on it.
Any help?
Thanks!

There is also a new changer on the market called NEO. It is universal and comes with over 30 factory harnesses to adapt to nearly every OEM head unit on the market. Best Buy carries it.

The Impala is the new data bus system and not like the older GM's. You may want to check at www.soundgate.com. They have a Pioneer interface and a Kenwood interface the the new GM's. Not sure if it works on the Impala though.
