I am trying to install an amp and subwoofer on a stock Ford Expedition radio. I was told to buy an adapter since the Ford radio does not have rca outputs. I have the adapter but I am not sure how to install it. It has 5 wires that come out of it. I know one is a ground wire and the other four are supposed to be spliced in to the speaker wires. Does any one know of directions or a site with detailed directions?
Thanks

What year is the Expedition? The wires on the LOC that you bought are probably as follows. One ground wire, 1+ and 1 - left speaker input wires and 1 + and 1 - right speaker input wires. Are they by chance white & WHITE/ black and grey & grey/black? This would be the left and right input wire color codes. They need to be attached to the speaker wires that are going to one pair of speakers in the vehicle. If your truck has a premium audio system, it has a hidden amplifier. This means that you cannot take the input signal for your LOC from behind the cd player, but instead need to go directly to the speakers for the signal (or between the hidden amp and the speakers). Yuor best bet is to go directly to the speakers as it will provide you with the best location for connection with the least amount of chance of errors.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
It is a 1998 Epedition. I had someone at a shop istall it and I dont think they did it right. They spliced behind the cd player and the subs dont bass very loud and there is distortion when i raise the volume. I know it is not the amp because I had the same setup on another car and it bassed loud. He tried to tell me that the amp was too small. I figured he installed the loc wrong. So best bet is install between speaker wires.

Does anyone know where the hidden amp is in a stock radio setup on an 1998 expedition?
Thanks

hmm try behind the radio and behind the glovebox. thats a common place for it. otherwise pull the panels to get to the sub and u may find it there

i believe the amp is below the radio to the drivers side. just remove the HVAC controls to gain access to the amp.
